To be frank, I have never been interested in beauty. Fashion and creating outfits have always been more appealing to me. However, my curiosity in skincare and beauty has grown over time. My main focus has been finding the ideal mascara. Despite trying countless options, I have yet to find one that satisfies me. As a result, I have decided to restart my search and switch to clean mascara.
Clean mascaras typically lack the chemicals and preservatives present in traditional mascaras. However, the beauty industry lacks a clear definition of ‘clean’ or ‘clean beauty,’ so it is important to read the ingredients. In the past few weeks, I have tested six different cleansing mascara brands to determine the best one, in my opinion. Although there are many other options available, I have only tested the brushes/wands that use my favorite style. It is worth noting that I have tried two Ilia mascaras, and this one is my favorite of the two, but it is not currently in my rotation. Eye Love You Volumizing Mascara.
This Sephora mascara is my all-time favorite. It volumizes and lengthens without clumping and lasts all day. It volumizes and lengthens without clumping and lasts all day. It’s also easy to remove at night. While it looks great for both day and night, it’s especially suitable for evening wear.
The Eye Love You mascara is the best, but it is also the most expensive at $58. Although it may not be the most comfortable to hold due to its lid-only design, I quickly adapted to it.

Straight Hair Volume Peptide Mascara
Although it doesn’t have as much volume as the #1 Westman, I really like this mascara. It is ranked #2 and does not smudge. The brush is comfortable to hold and it washes off easily. At only $26, it could be a perfect daytime mascara.
The only downside is that it’s ranked #5 on the EWG Skin Deep website.
Mascara – Super Opaque
This mascara is part of Bobbi Brown’s Simplicity collection. However, it could have been a close second if it had a curved brush. I am not used to the straight brush and it felt awkward to manage. Perhaps with more practice, I will get used to it. While it is not as voluminous as the Westman Atelier, it is similar to rms beauty. The wand is comfortable, it does not stain, and it washes off easily at night. Additionally, it is reasonably priced at $26 dollars. Its main drawback is that it can only be purchased directly from the Jones Road website, so there is no opportunity to earn points as you would through Sephora or Nordstrom.

Cake Mascara
It is akin to a perfect union between rms and Merit (which will be discussed later). Although not voluminous, it provides excellent coverage and definitely elongates. It is a suitable daytime mascara priced at $28; however, it is not my ideal everyday mascara. I feel that I need to apply a few coats to achieve the desired results. Nevertheless, it is smudge-proof, easy to remove at night, comfortable to hold, and I appreciate the wand shape!

Cleansing Lash Growth Mascara
I am not fond of this product as it seems inadequate and inefficient. Additionally, it does not provide volume, but rather coats the lashes delicately, similar to regular mascara. Nevertheless, it is a suitable option for daytime use as it does not smudge or clump.
Furthermore, it is reasonably priced at $26. It is worth noting that this product is not ranked on the EWG Beauty website.
KUSH High Volume Mascara
Initially, I liked this mascara, but it smudged and clumped throughout the day, which is a common issue with this product. Despite this, it is easy to remove at night and provides volume. However, it does not meet the standards of a premium clean mascara.
